An award-winning artist, Barb began with a background in watercolour and acrylic painting., and over the years has enjoyed working in printmaking and collage. She has recently begun exploring the use of oil paints, and has been creating a small painting each day since the beginning of 2022, based on sketches made during trips to Portugal, and explorations in and around Georgian Bay, and Kingston, Ontario, Canada. Barb’s work can be seen in solo and group shows in the Kingston area, and in her home studio.
Awards 2004: Organization of Kingston Women Artists – one of three awards
2005: Kingston Arts Council Annual Juried Arts Salon – first prize in the Established Artists category.
2008 Scotties Tissue Box Design Contest – 2nd place out of 32,000 entries
2008 and 2009: award winner, Art in the Park, Parks Canada, St. Lawrence Islands National Park
2010: BENE Award for Sacred Art from Ministry and Liturgy journal (California)
2011: Second prize, Kingston Salon Prize
2012: Nan Yeoman’s Award, Kingston Arts Council Annual Juried Salon
2013: Honourable Mention, Kingston Salon Prize
